Not a bad idea. Escha, Dick and I were trying to come up with something similar back when we didn't know the demon takes over everything. There still has to be something we can do.
At least if we're the ones being killed, we have a warning because we'll be awake. That means there's time for notes or, like, something. It worked for Izuminokami.
I'd have to check to see if our dear friends can recover any faster from injuries than the average human, but if they can't, I was hoping to set some sort of trap that could target a specific part of the body that I'd be able to warn you about ahead of time. Nonlethal, of course! It would be nice if I could just try to kill it myself, but I don't want any more demons running loose because we murdered their hosts improperly, or any innocent people ending up on the chopping block.
[Zero fuckin mercy.]
Still working out the details, but I should have something for you by Thursday, at least! For possession... [He hums and taps his chin.] I'm assuming they have access to our memories, but I'll double-check that too, just because I'm feeling optimistic! [He is not.] What ideas did you toss around for that?
Like what, a casual stab? [This is said dryly, but it's actually plausible, he thinks.] I don't see why we can't try to kill them ourselves if we had the right tools but there's the biggest problem. If you can think of something, I'll be interested in hearing it. I'll brainstorm myself, too.
[...but he nods.] They have access, I asked. We were thinking of coming up with some kind of code word or something but that was before we realized just how much the demons could take control. All I can think about is...leaving like a written warning or something? A demon would take it away, but if it was in a hiding spot other people would notice it's gone. Or something like that.
Yeah, something like that. Like I said, a demon wouldn't want to be found so wouldn't it clean up after the host to make sure nothing could be done to trace back to the source?
How would that work? If we assume the plan is - say, I tell you I'll leave a note under a bottle in the lounge saying "if this is here, I'm possessed!" and I'm not possessed that week, I obviously couldn't just leave it out there. How would we tell the difference between a demon cleaning up after its host and someone who really just isn't possessed?
No no no, the other way around. Someone not possessed leaving a note or an item or something in an inconspicuous place. If the item's still there, the person isn't possessed. If it's gone, the demon took it.
Haha, yes - especially since the demon would absolutely just leave it there if it inherits all of its hosts memories and knows what the plan is! You'd have to find a way to set some sort of alert up that you yourself aren't fully aware of, somehow.
[If he seems somewhat excited by the prospect, it's because he absolutely is. IT'S LIKE PLAYING CHESS AGAINST YOURSELF.]

Anyway he just nods in return because he's not surprised things once again aren't easy. Thanks boat!! Thanks demons!!!]
Depends on how quickly they take control, hm? If it's instantaneous, there won't be any time to write a warning.

[....] Never mind, that does get complicated.

[Which he sounds a little put-off over, considering it gives these demons one last chance to nab a body and get away without notifying anyone else...]
Though if you come up with anything in the meantime, I'd love to hear it.

[HE'S SO TIRED... Anyway, speaking of:]
Got a few things to finish before I get a bit of rest, though. Shall we chat again tomorrow after our dear friend has been dispatched?

Take care until then!
