Yeah, something like that. Like I said, a demon wouldn't want to be found so wouldn't it clean up after the host to make sure nothing could be done to trace back to the source?
How would that work? If we assume the plan is - say, I tell you I'll leave a note under a bottle in the lounge saying "if this is here, I'm possessed!" and I'm not possessed that week, I obviously couldn't just leave it out there. How would we tell the difference between a demon cleaning up after its host and someone who really just isn't possessed?
No no no, the other way around. Someone not possessed leaving a note or an item or something in an inconspicuous place. If the item's still there, the person isn't possessed. If it's gone, the demon took it.
Haha, yes - especially since the demon would absolutely just leave it there if it inherits all of its hosts memories and knows what the plan is! You'd have to find a way to set some sort of alert up that you yourself aren't fully aware of, somehow.
[If he seems somewhat excited by the prospect, it's because he absolutely is. IT'S LIKE PLAYING CHESS AGAINST YOURSELF.]

[....] Never mind, that does get complicated.

[Which he sounds a little put-off over, considering it gives these demons one last chance to nab a body and get away without notifying anyone else...]
Though if you come up with anything in the meantime, I'd love to hear it.

Got a few things to finish before I get a bit of rest, though. Shall we chat again tomorrow after our dear friend has been dispatched?
