No...putting it that way, you're right. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. [No one told the demons that, apparently.] Maybe the act itself satisfies the demons enough that it gets its power and doesn't have to adopt a host to be strong enough. I can't say I know a ton about it myself.
We don't know that it's not. We know that the demons will be held at bay if we do this, but we also don't know that there isn't a different answer we don't have yet. We didn't know what "dispatch" meant until this morning, did we?
