Makes sense. Between the circus and the field, I'm used to having to work with the unexpected. Being flexible helps out there. No matter how well you try and prep for stuff, you can't account for everything. Case in point-- this place.

None of my jobs have been easy or normal, but I got really heavy into obsessive research over the last year. [Hah.] But I think I once told you I work well on impulse, too. That's not really the same as flexibility is it?

It's similar, but different. [ he agrees on that lightly, drawing himself an ace and an eight. he can either have a 19 or 9 with that, wow, does rng like him for once ] I go with the flow. Try to adapt with what happens. Impulse is more... you make the flow happen?

...yeah that sounds about right. [He sounds amused though.] I'll go along with stuff and adapt where I have to until I want to change something about it. Then I change the direction of the flow.

[ he hums at that and ... then he looks at the numbers dick sighs and hits himself, since junpei has no reason to. 3, so he either goes from 19 to bust, so he's back to fourteen and he hits again. ... for another ace and fifteen. Last card!!!!

[....he just reaches down to pat him on the head, even if he's still laughing and tossing the cards onto him.]

I tried to tell you we could switch games and you're the one who wanted to keep going. I'm just naturally good at it. [No.]

[ dick bats at his hand ]

You're lucky, it has nothing to do with skill. [ and he sits back up, but doesn't start shuffling again, eyes narrowed. it is a CHALLENGE now ] Alright, you've got two on me. What next?

[He rolls his eyes and he looks Dick over for a moment.]

Pants have gotta go. You lost. [A shrug. That first and then he'll continue playing and winning and racking up favors and such.]

[ dick shakes his head at that, smirking a little. he doesn't make a show of it, though, simply lifting his legs and shucking off the pajama pants. once again, junpei might notice-- his movements are definitely stiffer than usual. he puts them next to his uniform on the ground. he's left in boxers, though he stays with his legs to the side of the bed as if he expects he might have to get undressed again soon ]

Can't afford to keep losing now, can I?

[ because he wasn't wearing much, really. this time, when dick finishes shuffling, he gets a 9 and a 2. ]

[He looks a little too pleased but Dick's pants disappear to the floor and Junpei takes his cards.]

I mean you could, but that seems a little counterproductive for you. [His cards are a seven and a six.] Hit. [Except when they get that far, it's a nine.]

[ dick didn't even have to hit his (which was a two.) but his grin is way too triumphant for someone who had nothing to do with it ]

Low blow. [But he rolls his eyes and stretches, almost making a show of stripping out of his shirt to throw it over to the floor. Farewell. ]

[ that he's holding onto that favor. hm. though yea dick looks like he appreciated the show, and even gives a low whistle like an asshole. then he shuffles and deals himself a ten and a five. ]

Maybe. I could ask for anything I want. [He hears the whistle but he also pushes at Dick's shoulder. Too bad he still looks a little flirty. All the same he takes his cards. They are also a five and a ten, and he makes a motion for a hit. Unfortunately it's an eight. ]

I'm shaking at the prospect. [ he says that with a smirk, so this is believable. dick's own hit was a five, so, it's a double win??? incredible. he sticks out his tongue a bit ]

Aaand now the pants. We've evened out.

You should be. [but since he isn't a sore loser, he sits up a little taller and slowly peels off the pajama bottoms to set them on the floor with his shirt. ]

We're evened out. [...a teasing smirk.] If you wanted me out of my clothes you could've just said so sooner.

[ he laughs, shaking his head ]

Sorry-- who started this, again? [ but it's time for another round, so, after another shuffling-- dick gets a jack and a seven. ]

Technically you did. [His cards are an eight and a Jack. RNG IS TOO NICE. ] I told you you could accumulate favors or ask questions and you went right for my pants. Kinda leaves a guy with some assumptions.

Hit. [Because maybe he's a little daring, but his third card is still. A two. For a total of 20.]

Yeah, that's a nice threat and all but I'm not seeing any action here. [ He's getting too confident, especially for a guy who has two threes dealt.] I'm assuming you'll stay? Hit. [The first hit is an eight. And he asks for a second which is a seven. I can't believe this. ]
