You know the whole "you die if you don't have sex" condition? Yesterday, he felt convinced it was going to happen to him—even though he should've been safe by then. The feeling went away after he did it.

He hasn't heard anything yet from the person he slept with, so we'll see if it's an isolated case or not. For now, until Chuuya finds answers, that's all we know.

Yesterday was Tuesday. It just showed up out of nowhere? Nothing caused it, he didn't go somewhere else without telling anybody? [A compulsion that goes away after you sleep with someone. This really isn't...]

Thanks for telling me. At least he trusts you. [He seems a little thoughtful though.] ...I know you're waiting on Chuuya-Red, but I wonder if Carlos might be able to see something from the other side. They might have a better idea of what could cause it.

Not as far as he mentioned.

If you can contact Carlos, it's worth a try. At the very least, while Chuuya doesn't think it's demons or possession this time, this is probably relevant to more than just Dick.

Yeah, I'll talk to him. He couldn't give me a lot of answers last time we talked, but something might've changed. If I find out I'll let you know.

[But if it's not demons or possession then what else is it?] ...I'll see what I can do on this end, too. Kinda hard to watch him when he doesn't tell us things but I can keep an eye on him. [He chews his lower lip.] He's pretty convinced being a hero makes him infallible and the last time I tried to say otherwise it...well, it didn't go so great. But I'll do my best.

You're able to reach him, then? That's good.

... Yeah, I'm getting the feeling that he's pretty stubborn. Still, you're friends, so if nothing else, he probably appreciates having you around.

[crashout]

Yeah. [And because it's Kagachi, and also it doesn't hurt to share this bit of information:] As soon as we got the new app on Sunday I tried. Seemed to work just fine, but someone confirmed with me today that they were able to see him earlier this week, too. It wasn't a one-time thing.

[Which is nice.] I'm gonna guess we could also reach Polly that way, but I'm not really ready to see her.

[With regards to Dick, though, there's a hum of annoyance.] Dick is incredibly stubborn, but incredibly smart which is a pretty bad combination when it comes to admitting his own weaknesses. Escha's pretty good at morale so between the two of us it should be enough. I'll just have to wait and see if he approaches us on our own later.

...I'm not asking you to break his trust further if you don't think it's necessary, but did he tell you who he slept with to make the compulsion go away? It's not a bad idea to keep an eye on that person from a distance, too.

He didn't say, and I chose not to ask.

It's fine. If he does tell us I'm not afraid to ask. For all we know that person's now feeling that compulsion and they aren't telling anyone else...which...is a bigger problem.

[preceptive]

I get why Dick doesn't want to spread the news until he has a better idea of what it is, but once we get that info, it's probably worth being a little less private about.

[crashout]

No, I definitely get why he's not and I can't be too mad since I might've done the same. [He can admit that much.] But just because he's been a detective longer than I have doesn't mean he's better at it.

[...it kinda does but let him sulk a little. He's just mad this is happening and he can't do anything yet.]

I've talked to Chuuya-Red about some other stuff on Monday, too. Seems like they're still getting organized on their end with everything and they're learning right along with us.

[preceptive]

Sounds like an issue the two of you have to work out between yourselves.

Which doesn't bode confidence. Though, I guess it'd be frustrating in a completely different way if they had all the answers and could only dangle them in front of us.

[crashout]

[A wave of his hand. He'll argue with Dick later.]

I'm not sure which I'd prefer but the latter would at least mean we could piece stuff together. Chuuya seemed pretty mad he didn't know much. I wanted to know more about where we were but...nothing.

[preceptive]

My bet so far is on some kind of border dimension.

[crashout]

You think? I'm getting the same idea. We can't go very far past the boat itself without getting kicked back. [But.] And once again we have no idea "why."

[preceptive]

... What'd you do, jump into the ocean?

That's always the question around here.

[crashout]

...yeah, actually. [Look.] I saw something out there that seemed sort of suspicious so I had to try.

[preceptive]

... Good thing you didn't drown. Suspicious?

[crashout]

Yeah. [To both of those, because he's already gotten an earful from others.] Have you been up on deck and checked out our path since the doors opened?

[preceptive]

I've taken a look.

[crashout]

So you saw the ruins? Any thoughts?

[preceptive]

Nothing that meant anything to me. Some people suggested they were illusions.

[crashout]

Which is possible, sure. But one of them is a little too familiar to me. I had to see what would happen if I tried to reach it.

[preceptive]

You recognized one of them? From where?

[crashout]

My own timeline. It's where Carlos and I were before we woke up here. [Or he's pretty sure.] A lot of the building's hard to see, but it's pretty distinctive. I don't know what else it would try to be.

[preceptive]

Maybe it's like the windows—sometimes, when I looked out of them, I could see my home.
