[SO THAT FUCKIN SUCKED. Like at least their areas of investigation weren't bad but he's sure heard by now about the BODY PART SCAVENGER HUNT and the fact that two people he was actually quite fond of are dead now. Bad.
He's also absolutely stolen a bottle of alcohol from the pool bar because their other bars are crime scenes, but a man's gotta drink? So that's what he's toasting Junpei's way when this gremlin eventually shows up a-knockin' at his door.]
Figured this might be nice to have, hah - you know, as usual.
[His tells are pretty tiny, but after four weeks of being around him, Junpei will probably be able to tell he's not handling this one Quite as smoothly as the other deaths so far. But only just barely.]
[Likewise, he's since heard and his own tells are a little harder to miss. Given the way his grip is tight on the door itself when he opens it and the steeled look in his eye he's absolutely not happy about a multitude of things. He just. Lets him into the room and shuts the door.]
Yeah. The usual. [Even his voice sounds off, but he's leading him into the room where the couch is. There's probably dried blood on the bottom of it and the floor. It's fine.]
...someone really knew they had all the time in the world before we'd wake up and notice. [Corpse jigsaw...bad...]
[In he meanders! He holds out the bottle to pass it off, glancing at that BLOOD?? But, hm, he'll just. Ask about that in a bit.]
It's almost more surprising that the amount of time our dear friend has to work wasn't taken advantage of until now, honestly. That's, what - ten at night to eight in the morning, ten hours?
[And they sure were... a busy damn bee (or bees??) the entire ten hours, by the looks of things.]
[He takes the bottle and just. Chugs a significant amount. I don't know what timelines are rn but he's immediately having a bad time in like four other pcs. But he'll hand it back.]
You only take this much time and create this much of a mess when you're very confident you won't be caught. Person can dismember a body in 90 minutes or less. So this...was someone just fucking with all of us. Not to mention what happened to Izuminokami...
[SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA DRINK he gets it... He'll take the bottle back but doesn't drink any himself just yet.]
—Was he dismembered, too?
[Because he's probably heard that Muzet was in pieces but who knows if anyone mentioned Kanesada's face was bashed in to him yet JUNPEI GETS TO BE THE BEARER OF THAT PIECE OF NEWS, I GUESS.]
...not exactly that. [Yikes. Also I don't know how Junpei would know, but I'm sure someone told him by now so.] Looks like he didn't go down without a fight.
Well, it hasn't had a problem taking out any of our other victims so far. Body checks never turn up any significant injuries... It could just be that the host was stronger than him, too, even without any supernatural influence.
[Tonbo just came in and tiddysmashed Kanesan into the grave.]
[that's fair i forgot what i had written and apparently did the same thing.]
Only one spot, too... None of the glass looked burnt, so I wonder if what was dropped might have been something that could have helped identify our killer and that's why it seemingly wasn't there?
Well, there were a lot of things scattered about. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of them were intentionally planted to throw us off of the true trail.
[Who even knows what the heck that burnt spot was EVEN FUTURE THEM DON'T KNOW.]
[Someone tried to molotov cocktail Kanesada but he was fireproof the whole time.]
Hopefully we'll get a bit more clarity about that when we can get a closer look at the other pieces of evidence left behind. Surely there's a thread somewhere to follow.
The thing is we can't get caught in the trap of trying to focus on one piece and wasting time that could be used on something even worse. We've been hit with that problem a few times, too.
Mm, yes, I'd imagine at least one of them is banking on that being a trap we fall into. Nine hours really feels like an endless amount of time and no time at all, doesn't it?
[A little huff of a laugh - also, finally, twenty thousand hours later, he'll gesture to that blood??]
Nine hours is actually a terrible amount of time to make executive decisions, but in the end somehow it works out.
[He looks perplexed, but he looks down at the blood and nods.] Ah. Izuminokami brought Tamamo to me while she had a knife in her arm. We pulled it out.
Yeah, to both of those. The warnings are making their rounds but people are still planning to break until these places anyway. I'm expecting it by now.
As long as we're all expecting it, that's better than nothing. Can't really do much about having to risk life and limb to get a few answers, but at least people know what they're walking into.
Later sounds good. And I'll see you tomorrow anyway. [He doesn't seem to mind the quick exit because:] I have some notes to go over before then anyway.
week 3 post inves

He's the spirit of a sword, after all. I'd be more concerned if he didn't.

That's still worth looking into either way. What also bothers me is the burn we saw. What the hell was dropped and why in the casino?
no subject
Only one spot, too... None of the glass looked burnt, so I wonder if what was dropped might have been something that could have helped identify our killer and that's why it seemingly wasn't there?

Then you have to ask what the motive was for that. Why waste time planting something obviously false? There's no guarantee people would focus on that.

Hopefully we'll get a bit more clarity about that when we can get a closer look at the other pieces of evidence left behind. Surely there's a thread somewhere to follow.
[Haha, A FOOL'S HOPE.]

Another venture gone awry toward the end, I take it? They really are getting riskier.

[Sort of.
Maybe.]

And the people waiting for them can be prepared. Keeping everybody in the loop isn't the worst idea we've had.
no subject
Mm, certainly not! Some matters do require a bit of a delicate touch, but for this? The more who know, the more there are who can prepare.
[Teamwork makes the dream work or something.]
That aside - there's someone I'd like to check on, actually. Shall we reconvene later?
