[Only one body is fuckin wild but like, thirteen locations for one murder is ALSO WILD, so here they... are. As Junpei's wandering on his way to his room to be sad about their dead bad cat, he reaches a hand out to tap his arm. He's got a bottle in the other hand, but considering how rough a fair few have taken this death, he employs some of his tiny scrap of tact.]
—I can't honestly tell if you could use this or not.
[Is there such a thing as "in too much of a mood to drink" though!!]
[He 100% wasn't even paying attention which means he jumps like three feet in the air. It's bad, fam, but he blinks at Wei Wuxian like he's trying to figure out if he's there or not.]
[HM THAT'S. Not any sort of good reaction?? His expression immediately evens out into something a little more serious, and the hand that's holding the bottle drops to his side.]
Maybe - for tonight, it might be a better idea to hold off.
[This is where a more responsible person would be like "hey maybe let's not", but Wei Wuxian is absolutely not responsible when it comes to drinking SO HE NODS.]
Alright - let's go, then. A little drink to take the edge off - though I do hope you didn't run into anything too gruesome, yourself.
[Hm!! Bad. If only every Friday could work out so that the ones discovering bodies (or pieces of bodies) had no attachment to whomever they were harvesting!]
...Possibly the work of the same demon who killed Muzet? Though I've heard that might have been the one possessing Maou, and we just got unlucky enough to end up with a second particularly brutal one.
Because the tactic worked well enough during trial last week, maybe? If the intent is to bamboozle us... Though I think that worked in part because we had two cases to solve at the same time.
[He hopes they'd have gotten closer to catching Muzet's killer if they only had that one body to focus on...]
We at least found all of his body parts, I think. It's all of the other evidence we found that I'm not very happy with. We're going to be looking at a very specific group of people tomorrow...and I don't know if that's a very obvious hint, or a very obvious frame job.
[Ah yes, the part of this mess he'd been trying to avoid thinking about! Good thing Junpei is walking ahead of him - he'll miss the whiplike flash of anger that strikes across his face, unless he deigns to look back.]
...Well. I have a clue voucher I'll be using at the first opportunity. I want to leave as little up to chance as possible.
There's all three, at least - though I don't doubt we'll have many more.
[This ship is good people... And also, they're all dumb and have no confidence in their ability to solve things without hints, it's fine.]
Judging by how many trails of blood there were, I'd say that's probably true. It looks like the final blow may have been delivered in the clinic... Hizamaru and I didn't get the chance to go through the drawers or cabinets there, so we'll want to go back tomorrow. He found a blade there, though - the colorful one.
Too bad we're limited that way. We just have to be strategic about it.
[But there's a hum as he thinks about the idea that the clinic is where Shiraishi might've died, wondering about the chain of events.] The colorful blade is the one I think he had yesterday. It's not a bad idea to look again. I want to know if we can get a better idea how the blood trails ended up looking the way they did. Or how they strung his body up in a tree.
Mm, right - I heard he, ah... fell onto Higekiri? [Gross.] I'm curious about those trails myself, though. The ones that look like some sort of staggered straight lines, right? They were all over the ship. I'm assuming it was after Shiraishi was killed...
But the fact that they're flat is what gets me. Like something was dragged. Couldn't have been the body because the trails weren't big enough. [He shakes his head.] The body fell on Higekiri and I kinda felt bad, but...that wasn't supposed to happen anyway. He just fell.
I thought about that. Like a crutch or something, but it wouldn't make those kind of lines. All we can do now is wait to see all of the evidence. Maybe then it'll make sense.

It's fine...it's practically tradition now, isn't it? [He tilts his head.] C'mon. Lounge should be empty.

We found Shiraishi's body and most of his organs. But I found his lungs later when Kagachi and I looked around. So that was nice. [Haha!]

I don't know what happened, but I'm pretty sure he tried to defend himself, at least. He had a switchblade the last time I saw him.
