[He could say something that's a little too incredibly real like how he's lived enough deaths to be okay but he decides not to. Instead, he gives off the smallest smirk in the world..]

[ dick looks at him like he's a little stupid, then-- pulls a junpei and puts his hand on junpei's face ]

Oh. [Hmph. Rude? The smirk disappears and he instinctively pushes at Dick's hand while his expression borders on puzzled and amused. "Oh." There's a pause like he's trying to figure out what to say. Saying "why" or "thanks" or "it'll be fine" doesn't seem that appropriate, so he lays still and changes the subject a bit.]

...Haymitch came by last night while you were out. Updated me on some stuff including the room he and Katy broke into.

[ this is the greatest position they've ever held while having a serious talk, because junpei's still in between his legs but dick is right back on mission mode. cuck yourselves, boys. ]

Blew up the door, found the gym. Haymitch said there was a TV on that was playing PSAs about exercising for better sex, except he and Katy both saw people they knew from back home. Katy destroyed the TV, but then all of the other TVs lit up and these monsters crawled out of the screen. Haymitch kept calling them Muttations, described them as having the body of a person but no face and moving in a way nothing else did. They ended up getting stuck on some exercise equipment that forced them through a torture workout the Muttations ran. Haymitch got stabbed in the leg. Katy's throat's burned pretty bad. The things eventually dissolved though and let them out of the room.

First time I've seen Haymitch that badly shaken up, actually. I haven't seen Katy yet, but she's stable apparently.

Stable isn't exactly the most reassuring way to put it. [ dick's making note to go check on them, if they're both alive today ig because it is already death day ooc ] The body of a person with no face... That sound familiar to you?

Incredibly. I've been thinking they might be our demons before they actually find new hosts or something but they sound a lot like what Beck, Higekiri and I saw. The face they disappeared also isn't that reassuring since that means they could be anywhere by now.

Maybe. Or maybe they're the old demons from last time. [ he taps his fingers on the bed as he thinks ] It's a stretch, but-- our current demons are spiritual possession only, as far as we know. So if they have a physical form... it's borrowed from something.

Old demons from last time or the old group from last time after they were already possessed. We already know that the demons last time also borrowed people's faces, so...[A shrug. He flips through the pages of his journal to where he wrote down Haymitch's account.]

It's day 27 right now. We're losing time and the rooms are getting worse. [Which makes the argument about breaking in a little funnier now.] But if they saw these things, we have to be getting closer to the source.

[ are the rooms getting worse or are people being more reckless. dick is not going to be the one to do a call out, buuuut. anyway. ]

[...he just looks away and kind of frowns like the semi-tsundere idiot he can be. But Dick gets out of bed and Junpei stays on the mattress where he's rolled, watching him for a moment before he sighs and sits up.]

Yeah. And I've got a meeting to attend that I arranged anyway. Guess we're both starting early.

Morning people. Gross. [ but he says it. so cheerily. ] I'm still taking first shower!
