[At some point on Thursday morning, Junpei's flagged down Kagachi with a brief explanation that he has someone who would like to speak with him. He briefly mentions that it's someone who could help, and with that the two of them depart for a meeting. He had arranged a time and space with Edelgard and now as the pair approach her, Junpei keeps his hands in his pockets and also a bit of distance.]

I think the three of us could stand to compare some notes, don't you?

[She breaks into a smile at the approach of the two of them. Oh good.]

Indeed, we do. Kagachi, are you the one passing clues and notes to Junpei to solve? Or simply another person whose identity he came to learn against your better instincts?

[Actually, she knows full well she has to be more direct, so.]

You were given a special role by one of the hosts, weren’t you?

[Well. This is going to be interesting in about five minutes, so he simply lingers back and watches Kagachi to see what he'll have to say. He can't directly answer her anyway.]

What's your reasoning for thinking I have one?

My reasoning is that I asked Junpei to introduce me to a person he described, and he agreed.

Sorry, man. But I also confronted her about being one of the Cockblockers and she confirmed. [So.] We've been trying to figure out what happened to Dimitri and ruled out it wasn't because you found out he was possessed. Right?

[he sighs.]

Yeah, he wasn't the one I checked. No idea what happened there.

Are you allowed to tell us who you have checked?

[edelgard's going to have to ask that question again because kagachi has moved on.]

Don't know, and I'd rather not risk it. It won't be relevant unless they come up as a suspect anyway, since it's not like I've found a host.

[Sighing, hard.]

I’d prefer to know. For one thing, if you died, we’d be left in the dark.

For another - [She pauses, thinking for a moment.] Kagachi, isn’t it true you’ve only had this role for the past week? Isn’t it the case that you took over Prompto’s duties, after he died?

[...she has a point. If Kagachi died, well...they'd have to start over. But he shifts his weight from one foot to the other to let Kagachi answer instead.]

Trust me, I'd love to break the rules if I could, but I'm pretty sure I'm on thin ice as it is and I wouldn't be surprised if next time means death for me. [he shakes his head.] I have no problems with dying for a cause, but unless I have reason to think they'll fall under suspicion, info on this level isn't worth it just yet.

I can send an anonymous note to someone. I know I'm allowed to do that. Probably not either of you, since you'd know it's from me, but if you can find them, then that should be fine.

I know roles can transfer, but I don't know where you got the idea I inherited mine from Prompto.

Hmm! Then I suppose you’ve had this role since Polly and Carlos died, haven’t you?

[That’s all she has to say to that.]

If the rules prevent you from telling us, I certainly don’t want to cause you any risk. Nor should it get out widely. But I do need access to that information somehow.

You sent the notes to Junpei that allowed him to discover my role, didn’t you?

This is sort of why I wanted to close this gap. Seems like there's some misinformation going around and I, personally, would like to know why. Then again I'm also curious where you heard that Prompto might've had something to do with this. Not many people would've spoken to him about it, I think.

[He shakes his head though.] To prevent Kagachi from incriminating himself further, I'll answer that. If he did send the notes I found, they weren't what I used to find your role. That was my own deduction. Kinda curious if your notes are ones I've found though. A simple yes or no will work, you already know which ones I've seen.

I'm curious about that as well. Where did you get Prompto's name from?

Unfortunately, the reason I asked you that question is not something I can explain.

But to save some trouble, there’s not a person going around spreading rumors about Prompto, nor did I speak with him directly. I simply had a hunch about something, and wanted to see if I could resolve it.

Is the hunch that somebody can talk to the dead? Because I can answer that for you, too. [He looks at the sky.] I'd be interested in your hunch though, if that's where we're going with this.

So, you're one of the Cockblockers, which means your role should be similar to Escha's. Potentially preventing death in some way each week?

That’s too bad, since I’ve already told you I can’t explain that. You’ll just have to give it a little thought, and if you guess correctly, I’ll tell you.

It has nothing to do with messages from the dead, however.

Different role then. There are a few that we're missing, and if someone gave you that sort of hunch, I'd guess this was while Prompto was still alive.

Does your role also affect exorcisms?

Yours is the one that's brand new because it transferred. [The coincidence is too much given it's exorcisms.] You obtained Escha's role after she died.
