Oh. Like a recording that's played really loud for multiple people to hear. An announcement? Usually it's over something like a radio or a television.
But it seems that way. The sound was thrown from the room we were in into the basement. When we checked the switchboard it gave us a list of rooms. That must've been what happened.
[ you know, i thought he might know what a radio is since he's the baby sword, but apparently japan didn't get radio until 1925 so he's just! gonna continue to be clueless i guess! why not!
but he gets the announcement part at least so he's just gonna pretend he gets it. it's probably unconvincing but whatever. ]
Right, right... So if we hear something like that again, it may not really be any of us.
Right. [Look he's just glad Kanesan at least understood Enough, it's fine.] Don't believe everything you hear right away. We don't know what kind of game this place is playing.
[...it's become the place now instead of a person.] What you were hearing was what we were seeing. A visual recording. But it means this hotel has some kind of sound system set up to play wherever it wants.
Oh. You know what those are. [THAT HELPS.] It's called a video camera. It captures moving images and audio instead of a stillframe like a normal camera.
[...but.] I don't know if telling everyone right away is a great idea. [Why?] Eventually, yeah, but there are still some things I want to check with other people first before everybody gets the wrong idea.
[And then Kagachi accidentally drags them anyway it's fine, but.]
Someone in our citadel has one... Ah, this could be a real problem for us, huh?
[ HE DOESN'T LIKE IT... and he likes the moving images and audio part even less, wow. ]
What? Why not? Wouldn't it be better for all of us to be prepared? They've probably already come to their own conclusions about what happened to you three, so it's better to set them straight before it gets out of hand.
[ to his credit he mostly sounds baffled by this, he won't really argue the point if junpei really believes that ]
A problem is putting it lightly. [Luckily for Kanesan Junpei is less drunk and cagey than he was in earlier threads, and also this sword seems like maybe he'll listen. So. He crosses the room finally to approach a vending machine, looking for a snack.]
It'll get out of hand either way. I'd rather have control of the situation when it does, and that's why mentioning it in smaller groups is a better move. Strategically. Everyone will find out soon enough, but announcing it to a large group ups the chances of someone doing something stupid.
[Sometimes you do something like that and a crazy man holds a teenage girl at knifepoint, it's fine.]
[ kanesan can definitely see the logic in that. the shinsengumi has worked that way in the past, as have the swords when necessary, so he can get on board. ]
Who have you told already, then? So this doesn't get around to those you haven't trusted with it yet.
[Hilariously he had this conversation with Beck and talked her out of sharing with the group at large for that reason.]
Prompto doesn't know everything, but I suspect he knows something happened. Zero knows a little, but not everything. [...] I told Carlos everything. Tamamo, Dick and Escha, too. Shiraishi knows a few things from Beck, and Kagachi knows from Higekiri and myself.
Well, of course I trust the other swords. We'd make for bad teammates if I didn't. Out of the others...
[ hmmm ]
...You seem pretty trustworthy, so far. As do the ones called Dick and Edelgard. Though I haven't spoken with them as much, it seems they're both willing to look for clues and to protect those who can't protect themselves in this place. That should be reason enough to trust them, for now.
[That's how most people would think, yeah. You should trust your teammates...unless? But if he's surprised by the statement he doesn't show it.]
I've talked to both of them. Dick seems like he knows what he's doing, and Edelgard's been pretty calm so far. [It's helpful, to say the least.] ...but just for now. [They're on the same page that way at least. Good.]
There's a reason I've been making contact with just about everyone here. [He feels the same.] If we know where everyone's priorities are, it'll be easier to work with the people who are going to help us find a way out.
Keeping an eye on the profiles and seeing if they change doesn't hurt either.
It's a good plan - I'll do my best to help. The sooner we get out of here, the better.
[ ...wait ]
You think the profiles might change? [ technology?? ] There's a lot of information there... It might be difficult to keep track of it, depending on how big the changes would be.
It's something I wouldn't rule out until we're absolutely sure. You guys don't have computers or anything like this, I'm guessing. But profiles like these are usually updated by the person they belong to. Since we didn't touch these ourselves, we don't know if someone will change them whenever they want.
I've been reading through all of them, so if anything changes...hopefully I'll catch it. I'm used to looking over reports, it should be fine.
[It's just a lot of paperwork and it's tiring but what the hell else is he going to do here.]
[What a loaded question. At that, Junpei seems to have his attention on the drinks in the vending machine now, leaning against the glass to peer inside.]
No. [May as well be honest.] I trust them enough for what needs to be shared, but only a few on that list are people I trust with everything.
[This is precisely why Junpei actually likes Kanesada. He understands exactly where he's coming from? It's cool.]
We seem to work well, wouldn't you say? [He'll finally make a drink selection and promptly ignore that the bottle is apparently shaped like a dildo. I hate this game.] So long as you keep your options and mind open, it should be fine.
I'd say we do, so far! But you can't always judge these things from only a few days.
[ he's saying he can't be 100% certain that junpei won't turn around and reveal himself to be the kidnapper but you know? they'll tackle that when they get there. junpei's cool so far, so it's probably fine. ]
This place has already been... enlightening. So I'll look forward to working with you in the future, Junpei.
mobile tagging I'm gomen
[ weird! the mysteries just keep coming. ]
What happened after you went through?
hdu
The door locked behind us and we had to look around for a way out. Beck pushed something that must've broadcasted around another part of the hotel.
no subject
[ what does that mean ]
So they have a way to make it seem like we're somewhere we aren't, then?

[ he listens attentively to try to piece this together. it's a little difficult, for a sword unfamiliar and unwelcoming towards technology. ]
A visual recording... so, like a camera, but with audio?
[ he knows about cameras thanks to mutsunokami and he hates that. and they're still cursed! he knew they were bad news! ]
We should tell the others when we get the chance, just in case something like this happens again.
no subject
[...but.] I don't know if telling everyone right away is a great idea. [Why?] Eventually, yeah, but there are still some things I want to check with other people first before everybody gets the wrong idea.

[ maybe not a lot though, all things considered. kanesan makes the mental note anyway. ]
Alright, then. I'll be sure not to bring it up with anyone else until it's time.

[...] You really have people you already trust here? [He's interested to see what Kanesan might say.]
no subject
[ hmmm ]

But on the subject of who can be trusted...
[ he gives junpei a curious look. ]
The ones you named before. Do you trust all of them?
no subject
No. [May as well be honest.] I trust them enough for what needs to be shared, but only a few on that list are people I trust with everything.
no subject
Fair enough. Trusting each other with everything so soon is a little much to ask of anyone.
[ kanesan does wonder where, exactly, he falls on this list, but not enough to ask. junpei can decide that on his own, it's fine. ]
As long as we can work well together, it shouldn't be a problem.
