Carlos told me a while ago that whatever Polly did unleashed a few demonic entities on this ship. It's the reason we had two different demons collide, I think. I agree with you that it's fruitless, but there has to be a reason they keep coming back. There might be something else they're after.
Unless we find a way to actually destroy them instead of just temporarily disabling them, no, maybe not. Or there's just too many of them and even when we destroy them more of them are going to overwhelm us.
