[After a morning of even more bullshit than usual, Junpei finds himself leaving the main parts of the boat when he grows bored of exploring. He's checked out the new locations in the second basement, and it's why he heads directly for the deck to get some fresh air and check on a particular ruin in the distance.

Exiting the hotel, he sees that he's not alone. His footsteps are light as he approaches and his hands remain in the pockets of a leather jacket he's wearing, but he's doing his best to look casual.]

See anything interesting out there? [Hello Edelgard.]

[hegemonstrous]

[She is leaning against the railing, looking out over the water and trying to peer at the new ruins.]

Don't you wonder what they mean? Well. I'm sure you do, as you tried to swim out there.

[crashout]

[That gets a small huff of laughter as he rubs the back of his neck.]

With good reason. [But he'll join her at the rail, mimicking her stance against it.] I have some ideas, but it's hard to say if it's true or not, especially when sometimes the inside doesn't match the outside.

[hegemonstrous]

Don't be vague. Tell me. Your ideas are worth listening to.

[crashout]

[Oh. He looks a little pleased by that, but he'll move right into an explanation instead of lingering on that.]

Have you made contact with any of our hosts yet? [A nod to the ruins.] Supposedly that's where we go when we visit them.

week 2; post trial

[Coming for him after the trial!! She's pretty relentless and actively looking for him, so. Where can she find him]

[crashout]

[She'll have to look for a while before she finds him in the viewing room in the aquarium, settled on a beanbag and staring at the ocean. Hearing Edelgard enter the room, he looks up briefly before he braces himself for whatever's coming next.]

Edelgard. Hey. Need something?

[hegemonstrous]

[Well, since he asks her a direct question, he'll get a direct answer instead of a speech.]

Hmm. I would like to know how you're so informed of the various demonic strains. But I only need to know what you intend to do next.

[crashout]

Ah. [Ah? Ah.] Spoke to a few people who had the strains, we put together a timeline and we found out where the collision happened. Without that information about Aizawa and Logy, we wouldn't have realized the strains went in opposite directions after that. Carlos told me there are multiple demons among us anyway.

And so I'm intending to find them. Keeping up to date with people, checking on symptoms, and doing my job to be informed of what people are experiencing during the week is the best strategy we have right now to actually taking a course of action.

W3, WEDNESDAY;

[crashout]

[At some point after their announcement, he finds Edelgard alone and he approaches. Depending, they might still be in costume or maybe he got fed up enough to wait until they were outside of the ballroom. Regardless, when he approaches it's quiet while he debates how to open this line of conversation.]

...I'm sure you have theories. What do you think happened to him? [Did the demon lure someone out to kill and the victim won? Or did Dimitri fight his own demon?]

[Let's say they're still in costume, because it's funnier. Anyway, she appreciates his approach, being all business about it.]

There was a struggle near the fountain. A little blood, a little water disturbed, but nothing too terrible. And then the demon was brought directly to the ballroom, where they were killed with the precise tools needed to kill them.

Given that, I think it looks like an ambush on the demon by someone who came prepared.

[crashout]

Which would mean we're looking for someone who may have known Dimitri was a host. How that's possible, I'm not entirely sure yet, but where did they get the tools?

[He's musing on that in his sexy cop outfit that's showing too much midriff and leg, sunglasses on as he stares into the distance. Business is business.]

...mind if I ask when you last spoke to him?

We need to talk to the hosts. I can't fathom any other way to have gotten tools but from them. Though - by now, it's fair to you've heard talk that there are some people with special rules?

[She doesn't really wait for him to confirm that; she says it like she already knows he knows.]

That was my first thought. As for Dimitri, I haven't spoken to him in over a week. We were close, in a way, but we were not friends.

week 4; post-investigation

[Coming to find Junpei! She looks very serious.]

Do you have a moment to speak?

[crashout]

[He was on his way back to his room for a much-needed nap, but Edelgard's appearance causes him to blink awake and straighten up a little.]

Yeah, of course. What is it?

[hegemonstrous]

[Yeah. She definitely didn't come out of there as badly as he did; she's back on her feet and mostly healed.]

You won't see a repeat of last week from me. I was too hasty in trying to turn the vote to Katy when there was a reasonable suspect in our sights. However, in case it turns out to be important, please know that this time I chose Grune.

[crashout]

[There's a half-smile.]

To be fair to you, we all sort of missed what was reasonable right up until the last minute. But I'm glad to hear it. I get what you were trying to do, but it's hard to get people to understand if they're out of the loop.

[There's a curious look regarding Grune though.] It's probably more important than you think. But can I ask why you chose Grune?

week 5; wednesday am

[Coming to find Junpei a little later, wherever he is?]

[crashout]

[Good morning, Edelgard. Thank god he's showered and no longer zombie-goo'd which means he's...grabbing another cup of coffee and exiting the kitchen on his way to god knows where. But he does stop and give a polite nod.]

Hey. [And given this is Edelgard, he pauses for a moment.] Looking for me?

[hegemonstrous]

I am.

[Good, she's getting a cup of tea.]

You aren't injured, right? I heard some of the others were quite poorly.

[crashout]

[He'll lean himself against a counter and consider that question for a moment.]

No, I'm fine. Everyone else's injuries were looked at and taken care of as best as we could, but we're all alive and accounted for.

[Which. Haha. That doesn't mean a ton when you're so badly hurt but he'll take the victory here for now.]

W6, FRIDAY;

[crashout]

[It isn't long after the meeting that he just. Kinda. Bails. He's not even sure where he's going to be honest but the labored breathing sounds loud in his ears and the occasional cough is annoying. Smoke inhalation does that to a person. But as he rounds the corner he sees Edelgard and he nods in greeting.]

[hegemonstrous]

[Yeah, same, buddy. She doesn't feel great.]

Tonbokiri. Were you responsible for that...?

[crashout]

[He shakes his head.]

I thought maybe you guys were. But if it wasn't us, then what the fuck happened?

[hegemonstrous]

Truly - you didn't try and exorcise him?

[She frowns, troubled.]

I don't know. I'm - [She stops herself from saying something.] I don't understand how it's possible. He ought to have been protected.
