There was a room attached to the clinic. Are you familiar with morgues? Some worlds aren't. Higekiri and Wei Wuxian weren't, but...it's a place where the dead are stored while their bodies are identified or autopsies are performed or where they reside until they get a proper burial.
There were thirty-three fridges Horizontal kinds with drawers that pulled out. We couldn't open most of them, but we managed to open four and get their notes. Check these out.
[Into his pocket he goes to dig for papers. He hands them over, and they read:
A███████████████████████ F 28 NOTES: This is the body that was used as a catalyst to welcome the creatures into this realm... However, the subject does not present any abilities related to the concept of space and time. She is not a god, a time traveler, or a dimensional shifter. Perhaps she carries it in her blood as an untapped ability? It's a shame the subject is in no state to answer my questions.

J███████████████████████ M 19 NOTES: ... It's really a shame we couldn't continue our conversations. Oh, well. Thank you for leaving the medicine behind. I wish whatever was keeping you and the other three alive hadn't worn off, but I suppose this is the world righting itself.]
April, Neena, Hazel, Jason. Or, at least, I'm assuming. Nikkari told me that Nathan said they were the old hosts.
So we found their bodies and when we checked them, they didn't have faces. Like...it was just a blank slate, in a way. Beck found a lot of autopsy tools, I found a ton of jars with green liquid that slows cell decay, and I also found a blue jar that we still can't open. The problem is we saw the note on the ceiling way too late.
"Don't uncover their faces."
...so, of course, the bodies came back to life, their faces split apart and we were left fighting zombie-demons.
[...there's a soft laugh because that's not the answer he expected and yet it is.] The only way to really kill them was to rip them apart or a headshot. But their teeth and claws were pretty nasty.
From what I'm understanding, yeah. I remember Tamamo, Izuminokami and Grune all saw a vision involving a ritual circle like ours. A woman with short hair stabbed a woman with long hair while she was trying to revive a man. The short-haired woman used the corpse of the long-haired one to try and summon something...she was reading out of a book, and her arm was ripped apart. It's not a guarantee they're the same people, but if the long-haired woman was Neena, whose body gave out, and the woman was Hazel who then went to find April instead...[He shakes his head.] It's speculation at best.
[...but he does look openly worried.] I've...been wondering the same. If it does wear off, how do we...do you think maybe the ritual's meant to bring them back entirely and banish whatever's on this ship?
Right. Or there's that. [It's fine, he's just going to completely bypass the idea that Carlos and the others may have to stay perma-dead. Haha. That's a later problem.]
The documents mentioned some kind of medicine and stuff, too. Plus there's one more room behind the morgue that we couldn't get into. There might be something there we can use. [...] Do you think they really knew there was a way to save everyone? Or were they just feeling optimistic?
At least the others found Polly so that's one problem solved. Now we just have to figure out how to make sure the rest of them don't disappear somewhere else. [He takes a sip of his coffee to give himself time to think.]
Chuuya's sort of of the opinion that they're guides and they'll figure things out. Carlos was still trying to understand everything he learned and I haven't really found the right way to ask him since. Maybe the lack of progress is just a warning.
From what I've heard, Polly was punished because she told one of the roles under her about being gifted the role early. So there's something else out there that's capable of punishing our hosts, too.
...sounds like she was doing what the rest of us are. Trying to help and not knowing how it'll go. [But...there's a low, discontent noise.] We've made some progress but not the amount we need. It's been thirty-nine days. You'd think we'd be better at this by now instead of continuing to succeed by the skin of our teeth.
Correct. She told Shiraishi's replacement on Sunday, to ensure that we would be able to meet together this week. That is why I felt there was something she wanted us to accomplish together. But...I'm afraid that it's possible we've failed at that, too.

No, I'm fine. Everyone else's injuries were looked at and taken care of as best as we could, but we're all alive and accounted for.
[Which. Haha. That doesn't mean a ton when you're so badly hurt but he'll take the victory here for now.]

[Hmm, though.]
I'd assume, then Hazel was the one who summoned the demons? And the others...I wonder if whatever is keeping our hosts alive will also wear out?

[Bluntly. She knows Junpei cares what happens to them, or at least Carlos, and she doesn't not care, but...]
I don't know. Those four seemed confident at the start there was at least a method to save everyone, themselves included.

...if Polly was missing, how did your meeting go? Did you guys just work together on your own?
